Karen Traviss again made a Star Wars novel more serious and adult, but I just don't understand why she has to prasie the Mandalorians every single time while bashing the Jedi every chance she got.

So again, missing her or not is 50/50 to me after she announced her departure from writing Star Wars novels ~

Star Wars can live without a few clones or Mandos, but Star Wars is not Star Wars at all without our nobel defenders of galactic peace and justice, namely the Jedi Knights, who appeared from the first published Star Wars work to this day, while the first Mando, Boba Fett, was just someone with no more than a few lines of dialog, a few minutes of screen time, and who was eaten by the Sarlaac before our beloved Expanded Universe spared his life.

Stephen King's Insomnia

A great Stephen King novel that not only explores insomnia, but also the life of retired elderlies, death, domestic violence, woman's rights, abortion, and finally, the power of love.

It is not really a horror novel, but more like an adventure story. The rise of an unlikely hero and his journey from a common person, to a super power hero, to saving the world, back to normal life, and the final conclusion of his hero journey and his life.

The setting of this novel is so colorful that I wonder why Del Rey chose to adapt The Talisman into a comic book instead of Insomnia. The colorful setting of Insomnia would look so beautiful in a comic book, a TV series, or a full length movie.

And of course, Insomnia features the Crimson King, much to the delight of fellow Dark Tower fans.

All in all, a very good King novel which not only brings you a good read, but should make you think about some issues, of life, retirement, friendship, family, death, love, etc.

Highly recommend.

Antigonish - Hughes Mearns

Antigonish

By American Poet Hughes Mearns

First published on 27 March 1922

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn’t there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...
When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door... (slam!)
Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away\
